The varsity track and field teams competed in their 2nd Highland Conference double dual against Houghton Lake and Manton on Monday. Winning individual events were:
For the girls:
Ellie Bowerman-800 & 1600
Kate Schultz-shot put
Addison Fussman- high jump
For the boys:
Landon Davis-100, 200
Aaron Locke-800, 1600 and pole vault, beating his own SCHOOL RECORD again with a vault of 13’6”
The varsity boys’ baseball team won two against Evart last night. Cuyler Smith (3-1) threw a no hitter, striking out 14! Eric Elias was 3-4 with 2 RBI’s and Gary Zuker was 2-2. Cuyler added a triple. In game 2, Collin Martin (3-1) got the win, throwing 5 innings and striking out 5. Garry was 2-2 with a double. The Aggies are now 8-7 on the season and 6-0 in the Highland.
The boys middle school track team beat Pine River 92-38 and beat Manton 90-48 at last night's meet. Highlights from last night are:
Brady Gross - 1st place in the 70m and 200 m (both were PR's)
Zach Schafer - 2nd place in the 100m and 200m
Ryder Sternquist - 1st place in the 100m and 400m (with a PR)
Conley Bland - 1st place in the 800m and 2nd in the pole vault
Liam Millerov - 1st place in the 55m hurdles and 3rd in the 200m hurdles (both with PR's)
Eli Marshall - 3rd place in the 100m (with a PR) and 2nd in the long jump
Hudson Block - 1st place in the long jump and 3rd place in the 200 (both PR's)
Ben Levesque - 2nd place in the shot put
4x100 relay - 1st place (Hunter Beebe, Nick Faber, Eli Marshall, Zach Schafer)
4x200 relay - 1st place (Hunter Beebe, Cooper Hickey, Cole Wezensky, Nick Faber)
4x400 relay - 1st place ( Ryder Sternquist, Liam MIllerov, Conley Bland, Brady Gross)
4x800 relay - 1st place (Ben Levesque, Cole Millerov, Cole Wezensky, Gregg Martin)
Other PR's on the night - Levi Sienkiewicz in shot put, Hudson Block in the 70m, Cole Millerov in the 400m and Gregg Martin in the 800m.

Aubrey Block - 3rd in 200m
Olivia Kruger - 3rd in 1 mile
Alayna Sharrar - 4th in 1 mile
Kenzie Maxon - 4th in 100m
Taylor Sanders - 2nd in 70m
Avery Schultz - 2nd in shot put
Evelyn Schafer - 1st in long jump
4x200m relay 2nd - Evelyn, Aubrey, Tilly, Taylor

Important upcoming dates for our seniors: Senior’s last day (extravaganza day) - May 14th. Senior awards - May 14th at 6:00 p.m. in the small gym. Senior Mass at St. Joes - May 16th at 5:00 p.m. Graduation - May 21st at 7:00 p.m.
Community service opportunity: If you would like to earn some community service hours this summer, click on the following link to sign up to assist with St. Joe’s VBS:
JD’s Driving School of Winn has openings for a Segment I driver’s education class starting July 6th from 7:00-9:00 p.m. See Diane for details on how to sign up! There is also a Segment II class in September on the 14th, 15th and 16th from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Yearbooks are on sale now! Cost is $35 and can be purchased from Mr. Clark or Mrs. Rider or from Diane in the office.
Any current 8th - 11th grade students who are interested in joining Student Council, please complete a questionnaire that is posted on the bulletin board outside the MS/HS office and return to Mrs. Crowley by May 1st.
