Deputy Jonathon Straus

Deputy Jonathon Straus - School Liaison Officer

I am Deputy Jonathon Straus and I am the current School Liaison Officer for Beal City Public Schools, St. Joseph the Worker, Rosebush Elementary, and Weidman Elementary. I was hired by the Isabella County Sheriff’s Department in 2006 as a Road Patrol Deputy and accepted the Liaison Officer position through the Youth Services Unit in June of this year.
As the Liaison Officer, I will be spending time in the classroom instructing the students in      T.E.A.M. (Teaching, Education, and Mentoring) curriculum with presentations in areas such as safety, drug awareness, bullying, and laws. Also, I will be working with the school administrators to help keep the school safe, which includes preparing and implementing various emergency drills throughout the year. In addition to the time that I will be spending within the school, I will be present at numerous sporting events and after school activities.
As a 2000 graduate of Beal City High School, I am honored and excited to return to Beal City Public Schools and the surrounding schools. I look forward to working with all of the staff and getting to know all of the students.
I will be available to all students, parents, and staff to answer questions. If you ever have any questions regarding school related matters or events that are happening at home, please do not hesitate to contact me at 989-621-7510.
