Government Class Goes to Teen Court
by Jennifer Gross
Mrs. J. Gross's American Government class participated in Teen Court on Friday, March 14. This trip offers an authentic experience for teens to take part in the Judicial System. The Isabella County teen court program invites area schools to attend juvenile hearings, while sitting on the jury of real juvenile cases. After deliberating, the student-jury presents consequences to the court, and if approved, are carried out by the teen offender. This unique opportunity introduces the court process to students and has even inspired some to consider futures in law and enforcement.
